Exercise Joint Warrior is planned to start on 21 April 2018 from Her Majesty's Naval Base Clyde. Seventeen nations are participating in the exercise that will last two weeks. The Royal Air Force, Navy and Army are the leading forces, and those are added with services from sixteen other nations including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Turkey, Sweden and the United States.
Joint Warrior runs through a range of scenarios, including crisis and conflict situations, that could be realistically encountered in operations – disputed territory, terrorist activity, piracy and more. The exercise usually takes place in the spring and autumn, but 2018 will see only one edition. The autumn session is being cancelled and replaced by a larger exercise in Norway.
