Tail shaft alignment is essential for the propulsion of a ship. Malaysian energy giant Petronas delivered its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo to the South Korean oil refining company, S-OIL Corporation.  The delivery completed on Sunday, April 22,  marks the beginning of Petronas’s supply to S-OIL via a 15-year sale and purchase agreement (SPA), Petronas said in a statement. Under the agreement, Petronas is committed to deliver up to 0.7 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG to S-OIL. The cargo was delivered from Petronas LNG complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, to POSCO Gwangyang terminal by Puteri Zamrud Satu, the LNG vessel chartered by MLNG and operated by Petronas’ unit MISC. Petronas’ main supply base in Bintulu, Sarawak has a total output capacity of 30 mtpa. The company added that it has also diversified its LNG supply portfolio in recent years with the inclusion of Australia’s Gladstone LNG and the world’s first floating LNG facility located offshore Sarawak.

Papendrecht, 25 April 2018 Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has emerged as best bidder in a tender to construct an artificial island in the IJmeer lake adjacent to the existing IJburg islands. Boskalis was informed about this result by the municipality of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Based on the current plans the contract is valued at around EUR 85 million. The project involves the construction of an artificial island in the IJmeer lake for the development of residential housing to accommodate the further growth of Amsterdam. In the initial phase around 82 hectares of land will be created by constructing both soft and hard bank protection and filling the reclamation area with nearly 9 million cubic meters of sand. In addition 3,500 kilometers of vertical drains will be used to improve the soil. MOD Scramble Magazine Exercise Joint Warrior is planned to start on 21 April 2018 from Her Majesty's Naval Base Clyde. Seventeen nations are participating in the exercise that will last two weeks. The Royal Air Force, Navy and Army are the leading forces, and those are added with services from sixteen other nations including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Turkey, Sweden and the United States. Joint Warrior runs through  a range of scenarios, including crisis and conflict situations, that could be realistically encountered in operations – disputed territory, terrorist activity, piracy and more. According to a report by the ANHA news agency, a meeting took place in Izmir between commanders of the Turkish military and representatives of the militias in Idlib, the Muslim Brotherhood, Ahrar al-Sham, Faylaq al-Sham and the Ismaili movement led by militia commander Abdullah al-Kurdi. The meeting also discussed the future of Afrin and decided to install an Islamic government system in the region. According to available information, an agreement was reached on the formation of the "Afrin City Council" and its chairmanship by a Muslim Kurd.
