Canadian special forces sniper kills an ISIS fighter from TWO MILES away in the longest confirmed kill shot in history
The feat of precision smashes the previous record set by Briton Craig Harrison, who dispatched a Taliban soldier some 1.54 miles away.
Set in 2009 with a 338 Lapua Magnum, he fired it from a height of 8,120 feet.
The third longest-record stands at 1.51 miles, and was set by another Canadian, Corporal Rob Furlong.
He shot an Afghani insurgent from a height of 7,972 feet during Operation Anaconda in 2002.
The US snipers' kill record is 1.42 miles, and was set by Bryan Kremer in 2004.
He took out an Iraqi insurgent from 7,546 feet with his Barrett M82A1 rifle.
It took three seconds to reach its target.
He used a CheyTac M200 Intervention gun, regarded as the most powerful in the world, and has a working range of up to 9,842 feet and holds the record for the world's longest shot.
