United Boeing 767-300 over Atlantic on Oct 13th 2016, cracked windshield
A United Boeing 767-300, registration N662UA performing flight UA-51
from Newark,NJ (USA) to Madrid,SP (Spain) with 221 people on board, was
enroute at FL340 over the Atlantic Ocean about 260nm east of Boston,MA
(USA) when the crew requested to descend to FL260 due to a cracked
windshield. After turning around to return to Newark the crew requested
to descend to FL100, during the descent the crew requested to stop at
FL240, following collecting wind reports for several altitudes the crew
requested to descend to FL140. The aircraft landed safely back on
Newark's runway 04R about 100 minutes after leaving FL340.
The flight was cancelled.The occurrence aircraft resumed service after 42 hours on the ground.
United Boeing 767-300 at Newark on Oct 17th 2016, rejected takeoff due to open cargo door indication
A United Boeing 767-300, registration N657UA performing flight UA-934
from Newark,NJ (USA) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was accelerating for
takeoff from Newark's runway 22R when the crew rejected takeoff at low
speed reporting an open cargo door indication and returned to the apron.The aircraft departed about 2 hours later and reached London with a delay of just under two hours.
A
passenger reported the captain announced on the PA that a cargo door
light had illuminated prompting the reject. Following maintenance and
refueling the aircraft departed about two hours later.
Sterna Airbus A-300 at Recife on Oct 21st 2016, nose gear collapse and runway excursion on landing
A Sterna Linhas Aereas Airbus A300-B4, registration PR-STN performing
postal cargo flight STR-9302 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP to Recife,PE
(Brazil) with 3 crew, landed on Recife's runway 18 at about 06:10L
(09:10Z), however, the nose gear collapsed upon touchdown, the aircraft
veered right off the runway and came to a stop with both main gear and
aircraft nose on soft ground. There were no injuries, the aircraft
received substantial damage.
The crew deployed the L1 slide, the
slide inflated but detached from the aircraft before the crew could
vacate the aircraft, the crew subsequently left the aircraft via
ladders.
The runway was closed for about 2 hours as result of the occurrence.
